At 80+ years old, Bobby Rush continues to defy expectations with his energetic stage performances, including impressive jumps that belie his age. Despite winning his first Grammy at 83, Rush remains deeply active, headlining European festivals, recording new albums, and writing his autobiography. His new album, All My Love For You, reflects his evolution as an artist, blending folk funk, blues, and love songs. Rush’s career began in rural Louisiana, where he built his first guitar and later toured with the Rabbit Foot Minstrels. Known as the "King of the Chitlin' Circuit," he revolutionized blues by adding funk to the genre. Beyond music, he’s appeared in documentaries and the film Dolemite is My Name. With two Grammys, numerous awards, and a Broadway-bound musical, Rush celebrates his legacy while staying grounded in his roots, continuing to inspire and advocate for the blues as the foundation of all music.
