BLUE MOUNTAINS FITNESS is one of only a few companies with a National Parks and Wildlife ECO PASS licence to carry out run training on the Ultra Trail Australia course. We have been training runners for 14 years to complete the arduous UTA course since 2011. We have highly experienced trainers who know the trails better than most.
We are NPWS ECO PASS licensed and insured to carry out this training within the National Park.
WHY? This is a great training run to get a look at the UTA22 course and parts of the other UTA courses - UTA11, UTA50 and UTA100. See where you are at with your training. The Run Trainers at BMF have a wealth of experience to pass on - race prep, race gear, training and race nutrition, race strategy, pacing and info on the course.
We do not leave runners and walkers behind. We have plenty of options with the different pace groups and distances. Our Run Trainers are highly experienced and will see who is doing it easy and also those who are finding it not so easy!
CAR SHUTTLES: As the start and finish of this training run are in different locations we will organise car shuttles and taxi buses from Scenic World to Queen Victoria Hospital to get you to the start. Your car will then be at the finish at Scenic World. You are more than welcome to also organise your own car shuttles if you have a group of friends running.
THE COURSE. We will start at the start of the UTA22 at Queen Victoria Hospital. Runners will descend Kedumba Valley Road and run the downs and up past Leura Creek, Jamison Creek, The Helipad, The Sewer Plant to Leura Forest before travelling on Federal Pass to the final climb of Furber Steps to the UTA finish at Scenic World.
PACE GROUPS. We'll have 3 Pace Groups - The MIGHTY TURTLES, a MID PACED group and the SPEEDY HARES.
We may even have a Walker Group and a Walk Trainer if required.
Extra KM. For those wanting extra distance we will organise an extra km group for the Mid Paced and Speedy Hares groups. This will be done by starting the extra km 30 minutes sooner than the pace groups.
Less KM. If you want less distance we can start you at the Kedumba Gate and also guide you on a shortcut of the Sewer Plant to make the total distance around 18km.
GEAR. We will be using this as a race day prep run and ask you to bring the UTA22 Mandatory gear.
