About this Event
Donté Clark:
The writer and co-director of this short film is a man of many works. He's been a community driven poet and eductaor for 18+ years uplifting the youth through the facests of storytelling and poetry. Though this is his first self directed film, he's written and directed multiple stage plays as well as featured in film productions such as "Té's Harmony", "Kicks", and "The North Pole".
The Film:
BLÚ HONEY is a poetic short film that explores the horrors of the black male experience across 4 generations. On a mass exodus from the South towards North Richmond, infamously known as “Dodge City,” they were expecting to escape the burnings of Jim Crow but found something equally as hot ahead.
What to expect:
We invite guests to come early to secure a seat as well as purchase Donté's poetry books which will be available in the lobby. General Admissions is available for check in at 5:30pm
This screening experience is bound to lead to fruiful conversation which is why you can expect a talk back with the writer and cast of the film.
