We're delighted to present a day of blues workshops with Penny & Lucas, also known as 'Pencas'!We'll let them introduce themselves:
'Hi! We are Pencas, from Taiwan.
We love freedom, dancing, teaching, traveling, and above all, we love life.
In 2017, we met each other in Blues dance, connected by music and dance.
Our shared passion for dance and teaching has also made us partners in mutual support and collective growth.
We believe that "Dancing is a natural instinct that everyone is born with, and it's something that brings joy naturally."
Through sharing Blues dance, we hope to give more people a chance to rediscover the natural rhythm of their bodies, to express themselves in a simple way, to enjoy the music, and then, through the language of dance, to connect with others, engage in conversation, and create unique and beautiful moments together.'
1330 - 1500: Polycentrism (Pencas Magic Bubble)
In blues dancing, every part of the body can move independently and harmoniously, as if having multiple energy centers. In this course, we will explore in a fun way how to use the body's multiple centers, allowing each body part—whether it's arms, legs, chest, or hips—to showcase its uniqueness and display the aesthetics of asymmetry and polyrhythms in dancing. This technique not only increases the visual appeal of the dance but also enriches interaction with the dance partner. Come on! Let's explore all the possibilities together in Pencas’s Magic Bubble!
1530 - 1700: Angles & Asymmetry Blues dancers always create visually interesting shapes with their bodies emphasizing angles and asymmetrical but balanced shapes.This class will lead you to explore how to use subtle changes in the body to create multi-angle and asymmetric postures, and create different possibilities in dance with your partner. Through these special techniques, you will learn how to add layers and express the beauty of the Blues dance.
