Sara will guide dancers through:
• Musicality & Movement: Learn how to listen deeply to the blues and translate its rhythms, phrasing, and emotional cues into movement. Explore how to feel the subtle shifts in the music and respond with body movements that reflect the soul of the song.
• Blues Phrasing: Discover how to interpret the blues' unique phrasing and syncopation with your body. Sara will break down how to feel and express the groove—whether it's a slow, sultry blues or an upbeat shuffle—and find your personal style within that groove.
• Stylistic Techniques: Delve into the signature movements of modern blues dancing, including footwork variations, body isolations, and dramatic pauses. Learn how to use body tension and release to convey emotion and connect with the partner or the audience.
