This is a 4 week Introductory partner Blues Dance series.Monday evenings: 7:30-9pm
Jan. 5 (Pulse, connection, steps)
Jan.12 (Jukin' styles)
Jan.19 (Ballroomin' styles)
Jan.26 (Musicality)
Instructors: Sara Hughes (formerly Sloan) & Candra Marr
$80 for the 4 weeks or can pay as you go (cash or e-transfer)

If you have not done any blues before, I ask that you be able to attend the first class to continue with subsequent classes. People with some experience may talk to me about dropping in to later classes.
Location (PLEASE READ):
I will send people the exact address when registering (Marpole area of Vancouver). The facebook address marker is not the exact address (for privacy purposes).
I do NOT have a buzzer to let people in, so I ask that people please show up promptly by 7:30pm, so someone can run to the door and let you in. Send a message, text me, or call me when you arrive and someone will come get you.
There is lots of street parking in the area.
CONTENT:
In this series, we will be learning about the pulse, posture and feel of the blues aesthetic and getting our basic steps and pulse into our bodies, a brief touch on the history and description of the variety of blues dances that are out there, how to comfortably move with a partner in both a jukin' and ballroomin' style basic, a few blues idiom movements that can be incorporated into your dances, and lots of connection technique built on some simple moves.
The exact level/content will change a bit depending on who ends up signing up, I am still gearing this series toward dancers who are newer to blues (though it does help if you have a bit of partner dance experience of some kind). Please let me know your dance background (if any) when signing up.
