We're gonna beat the heat and meet early for this adventure!
The location for Blueberry picking is Alta Vista Farm in Cave Junction. Parking is alongside a very narrow road so I recommend carpooling in our school van.
Each 'picker' is rewarded with a lb of free blueberries for every 6 lbs picked (which is basically one bucket). You can pick about 10 lbs in an hour using both hands. These are highbush blueberries which means there is no bending over to pick.
The farm provides buckets so you don't need to bring anything.
All the blueberries will be brought back to the packhouse for weighing, removing field heat, and repackage for our team while we continue to Rusk Ranch to visit the butterflies. We will stop by and pick up our berries on our way back to GP.
Suggested Donation: $10 per person, $25 per family of 3 or more.
Rusk Ranch: $5 for kids over 4 and 8$ for adults
Donations to Co-Creation School are tax write offs. Receipts available upon request.
