Come join us for an unforgettable evening with the legendary poet and performer John Hegley at Cullercoats Watch House.
Poet, comic, singer, songwriter and glasses-wearer, John Hegley has captivated and devastated audiences all over the country, in theatres and festivals, and with lots of appearances on radio and television.
His engaging compilation, New and Selected Potatoes, showcased here, shows the breath of his appeal, with seriously funny, cleverly comic poems on everything from love, family, France, art and the sea to dogs, dads, gods, taxidermy, carrots, spectacles and – of course – potatoes.
This is a performance drawing from a back catalogue of poems, prose and potatoes, along with his most recent tales and drawings from the Edinburgh Fringe show 2024. Singing and joining-in optional, emotional participation quite likely. The show is designed for adults but could be of interest to the odd nine-year-old.
(And during the evening, there will be an exciting raffle with mystery prizes.)
