About this Event
This loop hike through blue oak woodland leads us from Borges Ranch into the adjacent Shell Ridge Open Space and back via a mix of fire roads and footpaths on the quieter, north side of the Shell Ridge formation. Most of the route is easy and relatively level, though a few moderate climbs/descents add interest and views of Mount Diablo and the surrounding area. Be sure to bring plenty of water, a snack, and dress in layers. Sturdy shoes or hiking boots are recommended. Heavy rain cancels.
Restrooms are available at parking lot.
Hike is limited to 20 participants.
