Blue Horizon

Blue Horizon is a modern jazz group from Statesboro, Georgia that draws on swing, bebop, funk, latin, R&B and more to create their signature sound.

Born out of a group of friends in the Georgia Southern University Jazz Ensemble in 2023 who wanted to add a little more “funk” to traditional jazz standards, Blue Horizon has crafted its style of forward-looking jazz with extensive improvisation. Live shows often incorporate local musicians and friends of the band, who join them on stage to electrify the experience of the night. Blue Horizon has been joined on stage by The Eric Mintel Quartet and lead members of The Banana Band.

They released their first record, The Christmas EP, in December 2024, and are currently recording material for their next project coming in 2026.
