The holiday season is a time not only of joy, hope, and magic, but also of grief. For some, it may be the first Christmas without their loved one, or they may be suffering through health troubles, or simply struggling with seasonal depression.
Romans 12:15 calls us to rejoice with those who rejoice, but it also insists that we mourn with those who mourn.
During this festive season, Westwood UMC will take the time not only to celebrate, but also to mourn with a program we call Blue Christmas in Jazz. This Jazz musical evening is welcome to all who are weary from this life and need a place to intentionally grieve the season they are in. We look forward to creating a space of rest, acceptance, and grief.
