https://www.milfordvfaa.org/adultclassesIn this class, you will learn how to make beautiful and unique blown glass ornaments using Glaskolben pre-blown clear glass cylinders. Glaskolben are the perfect way to get into blown glass without having to learn how to pull points from glass tubes.
You will begin by learning about the different types of glass used in blown glassmaking, the tools and equipment needed, and the basic safety precautions. Then, you will learn how to heat the Glaskolben in the flame of a torch to soften the glass. Once the glass is soft, you will learn how to blow into the Glaskolben to expand it and create different shapes.
You will also learn how to add decorative elements to your ornaments, such as frit and stringers.
This class is perfect for beginners and experienced glassmakers alike. All materials and equipment will be provided.
