Blossoms: Come to Your Senses - A Blossoming Bounty In Nature's Frame

This spring, we’re celebrating Stockport’s other famous blossoms!

We’re delighted to be leading a series of free, creative and gentle walks and supporting a cycling pootle around blossoming routes in Stockport. We’re inviting people to slow down, notice and reconnect with the season, each other and Stockport’s pink and white petals.

Join An Actions Common at What if? with the National Trust and some fellow creative Stockport friends for a springtime wander and wheel through our blossoms and take notice of our senses.

Rooted in Hollywood Park’s little known orchard - and the possibilities it holds - Come to Your Senses is a small, friendly programme of guided creative walks and a cycle pootle starting at What if? - taking in our town that mixes curiosity, creativity and a bit of gentle wandering, finishing with a shared coming-together and naturally framed exhibition under the trees.

Over the course of April, people have been gathering words, sounds and moments with What if? and friends and this next session is the culmation of those moments, locked into Hollywood Park's blossom trees.

In the afternoon, we’re coming together in the Hollywood Park Orchard to curate and frame all of the journeys that have gone before in a nature-led installation.

All three walks and cycle rides will have created an abundance of creative output. This will lead to a shared celebration of those little pink and white kisses.

Using the ideas, images, poems and found materials gathered along the way on journeys we’ll create a hands on, collaborative, crowd-sourced “on-the-day” well-dressing installation made together and inspired by the people (and petals) who joined the journeys - , with blossom trees framing the creative community moment!

Bring a blanket,picnic and we also have some children's stories about Blossoms kindly supplied by The National Trust to enjoy reading in nature.

• All sessions will accommodate different abilities, please get in touch with organisers to arrange if any specific requirements are needed.

• Everything is optional - joining in looks different for everyone
  

Feel free to bring children, we also have some books about blossoms for them to read kindly donated by the National Trust.
