For the forager and wildcrafter, June is a jubilant junction.
This time of transition brings both the fresh young greens of spring and the juicy fruits of summer. Depending on the year's climate—dry or wet, hot or mild—we can expect to find anything from nettles, wild mustards, and other edible and medicinal leaves to mulberries, cherries, and even black raspberries from the woodland edges.
Whether you are interested in wild foods, local plants and ecology, or alternative uses for plants through wildcrafting, you're invited to join our Late Spring Forging Walk, taking place Sunday, June 7th from 10am to 12pm.
Along the way, we will spend time honoring the rich history our species shares with plants, looking beyond the question of "what can I eat?" We'll emphasize ethical foraging and ways of giving back to the land–reinforcing how thinking like an ecosystem should guide the practice of gathering wild foods.
Beginners and experienced foragers are welcome.
