PLANTING THE SEEDS FOR 2027
Fall Garden Prep Workshop + Garden Tour Preview
Help your garden finish the season strong—and help us plant the first seeds for the 2027 Shingle Creek Victory Garden Experience!
Join the Shingle Creek Victory Council's Livability Committee for a free, welcoming workshop focused on preparing ornamental gardens and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces for Minnesota fall and winter.
You’ll receive practical seasonal guidance, fresh ideas for next year and an early look at BLOOM NORTH, the proposed August 2027 neighborhood garden experience celebrating the gardens, people and stories of Shingle Creek and Victory neiborhoods.
Whether your space is large, small, polished, playful, native, colorful or still evolving, you are welcome. You do not need to be an expert gardener—and your garden does not need to be perfect.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN
• What to cut back—and what to leave standing
• Fall cleanup and garden-care priorities
• Mulching, bulbs and winter protection
• Preparing containers and ornamental plants for colder weather
• Creating garden interest and supporting pollinators
• Simple design ideas for a beautiful garden next August
• How to participate in the proposed 2027 BLOOM NORTH Garden Experience

ABOUT BLOOM NORTH
BLOOM NORTH is the working name for a new self-guided garden experience proposed for August 2027 in the Shingle Creek and Victory neighborhoods.
The experience will celebrate beautiful, creative and welcoming outdoor spaces while honoring the people and stories behind them.
Potential featured spaces may include:
• Front-yard flower gardens
• Ornamental landscaping
• Native and pollinator gardens
• Porches and patios
• Outdoor rooms
• Shade gardens
• Container gardens
• Creative curb appeal
• Small but beautifully designed outdoor spaces
• Gardens featuring art, culture or personal storytelling
Gardens will not be evaluated by how much money was spent, how large the property is or whether the landscape was professionally installed. BLOOM NORTH is about creativity, care, beauty, personal expression and neighborhood pride.
