About this Event
Bloodline: A play by Albert Dumont
Join us at SAW for an evening of storytelling and performance with Albert Dumont (Algonquin Kitigan Zibi), renown spiritual advisor and human rights activist. A one-person play, Bloodline blends poetry, photography, oral history, and performance into an occasion to reflect on the intergenerational violence of Indian Act colonialism. Braiding a story through three generations of kin, Bloodline demands we reckon with a past that is never truly past. Yet. despite the ongoing violence of colonial oppression, Albert's story stands as one of strength, resurgence, and continuance. Co-developed with local musician and playwright, Phil Jenkins, Bloodline is a must see for folks interested decolonial and resurgent futures in Algonquin territory.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Play begins at 7:00 p.m.
