When a friend, coworker, or family member is diagnosed with cancer, we seek ways to help. Donating blood through Bloodworks Northwest is an immediate and essential way to help cancer patients receive care at hospitals and cancer centers across the Pacific Northwest. About 25% of the blood supply is used by patients battling cancer. That’s because chemotherapy can damage red blood cells and platelet production, making blood transfusions a vital part of cancer treatment that only comes from volunteer blood donors.
