Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. A single donation of whole blood can be separated into red cells, plasma, and platelets, potentially helping up to three different people!
You don't need a special reason to give blood. Some of us give blood because a friend asked us. Some know that a family member or a friend might need blood someday. Some believe it is the right thing to do. Some do it for the free mini-health check-up, cookies, and juice. Everyone enjoys the great feeling of helping save lives!
