BLOCK PRINT A LAMPSHADE WORKSHOP
Come and join us on Thursday 13th August at 10am for a lovely block printing workshop with refreshments.
Spend a creative morning immersed in the art of traditional hand block printing as you design your own fabric and transform it into a beautiful lampshade to take home.
Using a collection of hand-carved Indian wooden printing blocks, you will explore pattern, colour, and composition, learning how to create a design that is uniquely yours.
Once your fabric is printed and dried, you will be guided step by step through the process of making a professionally finished lampshade.
During the workshop you will:
🌷Learn the fundamentals of hand block printing.
🌷 Experiment with colour and pattern placement.
🌷 Print your own fabric using traditional wooden printing blocks.
🌷 Construct a lampshade using your bespoke fabric.
🌷 Leave with a unique handmade lampshade ready to display in your home.
No previous experience is needed, just a willingness to experiment and enjoy the process.
All materials, fabrics, printing equipment and lampshade making supplies are provided, along with refreshments.
Spaces are very limited to ensure plenty of individual guidance, creating a relaxed and supportive atmosphere for everyone.
You’ll leave not only with a finished lampshade, but with the confidence and inspiration to continue exploring the beautiful craft of hand block printing at home.
