This special event will feature the powerful portrait series by artist Okai Davis, now proudly part of the BHM Permanent Collection. These portraits serve as a poignant reminder of the contributions and lives of Black Americans, providing an opportunity to engage in thoughtful dialogue about representation, inclusion, and the importance of acknowledging overlooked histories. As curators of the Bush House Museum, we are committed to honoring the legacies of those often excluded from cultural narratives, while also recognizing the harm caused by figures like Asahel Bush.
