Songs in the Key of Life debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart, earned the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and was later certified Diamond, cementing its place as a cultural milestone.
More than 70 years ago, a group of young students at the Alabama School for the Negro Blind began singing together. From those humble beginnings, the Blind Boys of Alabama grew into one of the most influential and enduring groups in American music. Their journey has carried them from the segregated South to the world’s most prestigious stages, performing for presidents, collaborating across genres and helping shape the sound of modern gospel.
