Bletchley Park - Relaxed Christmas Grotto Experience

The latest intelligence from the North Pole confirms that Father Christmas will be returning to Bletchley Park this December. This year, he has enlisted the help of a few extra friends who will bring the secret world of A Codebreakers’ Christmas to life for all the family.

Tickets include day access to explore Bletchley Park, timed entry to the Grotto, a meeting with Father Christmas, and gifts for children attending.

Visiting a Christmas grotto with its festive music, colourful lights and friendly elves is a highlight for many children at Christmas time, but for some, it can prove to be an overwhelming experience.

To make sure every child has the chance to celebrate the festive season here at Bletchley Park, we welcome children and their families to visit our unique Relaxed Vintage Christmas Grotto experience.

This experience is appropriate for children on the autism spectrum, as well as children with sensory conditions, who are neurodiverse or have other additional needs. Timeslots are booked to ensure waiting times are minimal, and families can request to have lighting adjusted and music turned off according to their children's needs. We will provide a sensory map and social story in advance of the day to support the visit, so families know exactly what to expect.

Our team will make sure children have a magical meeting with Father Christmas in our beautifully decorated Mansion, where they’ll receive a lovely Christmas gift to take home.

Your tickets include day entry to Bletchley Park, where additional top-secret Christmas activities are taking place. Will you discover them all?

• Codebreakers at Christmas

Explore this very special place and discover its secrets. You may even encounter some characters from wartime Bletchley Park carrying out their top-secret activities during Christmas ... Can you help them "keep calm and carry on?"

• A Christmas Carol

Codebreakers of the Bletchley Park Recreational Society are in rehearsal for their winter production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. They may need help remembering their lines or locating some props – take on this mission and help them prepare for opening night.

• Vintage Christmas Crafts

The craftiest of the Bletchley Park team, in between their important work of breaking codes, have taken over one of the huts and are making Christmas decorations. They are using any scrap paper they can find, including old coded messages. Join them to craft your own 1940s-inspired decorations to take home. All ages welcome.

• Indulge in a Festive Treat

Don’t forget to pop by Hut 4 Café and the Block C Coffee Shop for a hot drink and a slice of festive cheer. Who spies mince pies?

• Prices are £15 - £16.75 per person.

• Tickets provide timed entry to the Relaxed Christmas Grotto, and day access to Bletchley Park.

• Please arrive at the entrance of the Relaxed Christmas Grotto at the start of your chosen time slot. Please note that the Grotto is approximately a 5-minute walk from the main entrance of Bletchley Park.

• In our Relaxed Christmas Grotto, each family group is given a 15-minute time slot, which includes time with Father Christmas.
