About this Event
Why Mental Health First Aid?
Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. This training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care.
How Blended MHFA Works: 2 hours of online self-paced coursework followed by a scheduled 5.5 hrs IN-PERSON Instructor-led class (6 hrs including breaks). In-Person Instructor led session being held on Friday, March 20th from 9:00AM - 3:30PM at Northwest Community Hospital; 800 Central Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60056. Lower Level (B1) of the Busse Building. Room LC1/2

In Person Training Covers:
- ALGEE: Mental Health First Aid Action Plan
- MHFA for Early Signs and Symptoms
- MHFA for Worsening Signs and Symptoms
- MHFA for Crisis Situations
- Self-care for the Mental Health First Aider
Prior to the instructor led session, you will receive an email titled "MHFA on 03/19/26 - Let's Get Started!" that will contain log in information and steps that need to be taken to complete your pre-work. This pre-work needs to be completed 24 hrs prior to the in-person instructor led training being held on Friday, March 20th from 9:00AM - 3:30PM at Northwest Community Hospital; 800 Central Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60056.
