Blazing Saddles Ride to Phoenix Bat Cave

It's been a couple years since we had a Blazzing Saddles Summer Ride. So we're going to ride out to the Phoenix Bat Cave on the Arizona Canal. We'll meet at Linger Longer Lounge (LLL), and, well linger a bit. Maybe a bite to eat, a drink, and definitely some hydration. Plan to roll out a little before 7:00 p.m.
A Sunday evening should be a little more chill (excpet for the temprature), and they say the bat activity (bativity?) is directly proptional to the heat, making this a perfect Blazing Saddles event. 🦇🦇🦇🦇🔥
If you're not familar, the Phoenix Bat Cave is part of the infrastructure on the AZ Canal, a big concrete diverson tunnel that's home to many, many (many) bats. Don't worry, they hardly ever mess with people. 😎
It's about 3.5 miles from LLL to the Bat Cave. About half of the ride will be on the unpaved and unlit portion of the canal, so plan accordingly.
The bats start coming out of the tunnel around sunset, which is at about 7:30. It lasts for half an hour or so.
We'll lead folks back to LLL as needed.
Bring a suitlable bike for the unpaved bike path, lights for the night ride, a lock for LLL, and of course plenty of water. Good news, you can leave the sunscreen behind for this night ride.
