Join RCWD and Anoka SWCD for a walking tour of the Blaine Preserve SNA. Carrie Taylor, Restoration Ecologist from Anoka SWCD, will lead the tour and speak about the restoration work Anoka SWCD has conducted onsite, land management aspects, native plants, and other information about why protecting land like this is critical for a healthy watershed. Come see some of the best wet prairie and rich fens ecosystems in the area along with various summer blooming native plants.
No fee, FREE, open to everyone.
RESERVE your spot by selecting "Going" on this Facebook Event or email [email protected] with your reservation. We need an estimate of how many people are attending.
Parking available in Lexington Memorial Park. We'll meet at the entrance on the Lexington Memorial Park side. Lexington Public Works is on the same road for reference.
Bring water, bug spray, sunscreen, camera, etc. We will be following a strict path per Anoka SWCD's direction as this is a sensitive piece of land with highly sensitive species on site. You will not be able to venture off yourself to explore.
Absolutely no picking flowers or taking anything from the site. You will be asked to use a shoe brush before and after visiting the site to prevent potential invasive species spread.
IMPORTANT NOTE: NO PETS ALLOWED.
