Blacksmithing 101: pie lifter, cake server, spatula
About this Event
This one-day workshop will get you forging hot steel into a variety of shapes and forms. You will explore how the material responds as we guide you through a series of fundamental forging processes.
We’ll look at how steel can be pinched, compressed and stretched while hot. We will show you how simple forged shapes can be refined by hand filing and then riveted to stainless steel or brass to create unique handles for pie lifters, cake servers and spatulas.
No previous forging experience is necessary. This workshop is for those curious and wanting more hands-on experience working with raw materials.
