Well, it's already September 1st and tickets are now on sale for the Blackpool Tower Vintage Swing Dance! Another fantastic night of dancing in the iconic gorgeous ballroom with the amazing sprung dancefloor. Again there will be the wonderful swing band Kals Kats and out fantastic MC Stevie Cruz. This time, for a change, the DJ will be Tony Strickland who many know and love. It will be another fantastic, memorable night of dressing up and dancing. We are keeping the short session of Northern Soul after 11pm to really maximise the enjoyment of that dancefloor! The doors to the ballroom will be open at 6:45pm -7pm but you can queue beforehand up the stairs. Dance music will be playing. A cloakroom will be provided at the top of the stairs and Blackpool Tower security will search bags before you go into the ballroom. There will be no booked tables as usual so the early birds catch the best tables. Hopefully the bar costs haven't increased much with the new management though my venue cost did a little hence the small increase in ticket prices. The date is in April now which will hopefully mean better weather to enjoy the thrills of Blackpool. (my main one being the 3 floors of the antique centre nearby, the Regent, an old Art Deco cinema - some good stuff at reasonable prices).
More establishments will be open to stay over Saturday night so do let me know what you think of the April date.
I am putting another dance on with Kals Kats on Friday September 12th at the newly restored, gorgeous Art Deco ballroom at the lovely Bradford Live building in central Bradford. Ticket holders for Blackpool can benefit from a discounted ticket to experience Kals Kats in a beautiful ballroom beforehand The music will be mainly swing but with some 50's and with Kals Kats playing some soul from their soul band iteration. You can stay at the modern Leonardo Hotel opposite for just £45 for two. The ballroom is just a short walk from the train station or use any of the city centre car parks. The building is gorgeous in a lovely area with the fountains of City Park, the beautiful Gothic Town Hall, the wonderful Alhambra Theatre and the Media Museum.
