About this Event
April is National Poetry Month! Unleash your inner writer by destroying the page. Blackout Poetry is a unique form of "found poetry" where you take an existing text (like a recycled book page or newspaper) and use a permanent marker to redact, or black out, the words you don't want. What remains is a brand-new poem, hidden within the original story. It’s part creative writing, part visual art, and a fantastic way to beat writer's block.
Each kit will include book pages from discarded books, instructions with examples, and a permanent marker to get you started. All you need to provide is the creativity and more colors if you'd like them!
Kits are available while supplies last throughout the month of April. Stop by the Circulation Desk to get yours!
No registration required. Contact Jessica Keeler ([email protected]) with questions.
