Enjoy a special concert from the band Blackout at one of your Garfield County Libraries as part of the Summer Reading Challenge for teens! The members of Blackout are bound by similar interests, including skiing, Minecraft, music, and a strong connection to 80’s rock, specifically their favorite band AC/DC. Additionally, Blackout was recently selected as a finalist in the Inspire Aspen Rocks competition in the spring of 2024. The first concert will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17 at the Parachute Branch Library. The second concert will be at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at the Silt Branch Library, and the third will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 1 at the Glenwood Springs Branch Library. The fourth concert will start at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 7 at the New Castle Branch Library, followed by one on Saturday, June 8 at 2 p.m. at the Carbondale Branch Library. The final concert will be on Monday, June 10 at 2 pm at the Rifle Branch Library. The concerts in Silt and Glenwood Springs will be special “unplugged” versions with two band members, and all concerts are free and open to the public. Visit www.gcpld.org for more information.
