SwagHer Magazine invites you to our 16th Anniversary Dinner — Black Women of the Future, in collaboration with VIBE Restaurant & Lounge.
Join us Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 7:30 PM at VIBE Restaurant & Lounge in Silver Spring, MD, as we honor five extraordinary Black women who are actively shaping the future of media, non-profit work, wellness, technology, and entrepreneurship & community capital.
This is a night of celebration, sisterhood, and vision — where we pause to recognize the trailblazers building the world we want to live in.
The theme is Black Women of the Future, and we're leaning all the way in. Futuristic attire is encouraged — think bold metallics, architectural silhouettes, and looks that say "I've already arrived." But if you prefer to come in your everyday best, you are absolutely welcome as you are. It's the energy, not just the outfit, that makes this night legendary.
Tickets are $30, and guests order directly from VIBE's full menu and bar throughout the evening.

Fatima Oliver
Founder & CEO, Rooted in Women's Wellness
Inspired by her own postpartum journey, Fatima Oliver founded Rooted in Women's Wellness to create intentional spaces where women can prioritize healing, connection, and community. Through wellness initiatives, sold-out experiences, and service campaigns, the organization has impacted more than 1,000 women across the Washington, D.C. region.
A certified barre instructor and healthcare strategy leader, Fatima also serves as Senior Manager of Process Improvement at the University of Maryland Medical System, where she leads initiatives to improve healthcare operations and patient care. Through every aspect of he
Nicole Murphy
Founder & CEO, Barter Black®
Nicole Murphy is the Founder and CEO of Barter Black®, an innovative business-to-business bartering platform that helps Black entrepreneurs grow through collaboration, resource sharing, and strategic exchanges. By enabling business owners to trade products and services using Barter Bucks℠, she is creating new pathways for businesses to scale while preserving cash flow.
A Washington, D.C. native with experience in finance, healthcare, media, and entrepreneurship, Nicole launched Barter Black® after successfully building her first business, HomeShare 365, and reimagining business growth in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, Barter Black® has facilitated tens of thousands of Barter Bucks℠ in exchanges, empowering entrepreneurs to strengthen their businesses, forge meaningful partnerships, and build lasting wealth through innovative collaboration.
Sadija A. Smiley
Founder & CEO, Stillborn And Infant Loss Support (SAILS)
Sadija A. Smiley is the Founder and CEO of Stillborn And Infant Loss Support (SAILS), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families impacted by pregnancy and infant loss through community, education, advocacy, and healing-centered care. Following the stillbirth of her first daughter, Ivyanna, Sadija transformed her grief into purpose, building an organization that has served more than 1,200 families, trained healthcare professionals, and advanced conversations around bereavement and maternal mental health.
A certified Grief Recovery Specialist, speaker, nonprofit strategist, and author of After the Silence: 7 Gentle Reminders for Mothers Healing After Pregnancy and Infant Loss, Sadija is committed to creating equitable systems of care while ensuring no family has to navigate loss alone. Through her leadership, she continues to inspire healing, hope, and lasting community impact.
