Soil Sanctuary, a garden stewarded by a community of Black women and non-binary folks in North Durham, lovingly invites you to our first event as a collective. Come celebrate, break bread, drop your shoulders, touch soil, and build with us.
This event centers African, Black, Caribbean and Diasporic folks, but welcomes allies of color.
Event Highlights:
🌿 Garden Tour & Plant Walk w/ Raquel where you’ll learn about growing your own food, working with medicinal and culinary herbs, and engaging the long history of African/Black agrarian practices.
🎨 Art Projects w/ Dawn and Adenike Using materials from the garden/land. You’ll take something home!
🧘🏾 Kid Friendly Yoga w/ Nia Beginner, accesible, and relaxing poses for all.
🌼 Calendula Salve Workshop w/ Alexis Make a healing balm with flowers grown in the garden!
✨The best of vibes from the beautiful outdoor space, the music, the opening and closing circles, and the community formed
