Black Outside Fest
About this Event
Black Outside Fest returns Saturday, September 26, for a day of Black music, art, food, makers, heritage and community at the George Washington Carver Museum & Genealogy Center.
Presented by Black Makers Market, Black Outside Fest brings together Black artists, musicians, makers, food entrepreneurs, storytellers, families and community for one big celebration of how we got here—and everything we’re creating next.
Come shop Black-owned businesses. Discover artists and creatives. Eat good. Hear live music and performances. Explore the stories and traditions that have shaped Black Austin. Bring the family, bring your people and spend the day with us.
This is more than a market. This is Black Outside.

BLACK CULTURE IS LIVING CULTURE.
Our history isn't only something we preserve behind glass.
We live it.
It's in our music. Our food. Our art. Our businesses. Our style. Our stories. Our traditions. And in what we pass on to the next generation.
Black Outside Fest celebrates Black heritage as something living—carried forward every day through creativity, entrepreneurship, storytelling and community.
We honor what brought us here.
We celebrate what’s here now.
We make space for what comes next.
Whether you're discovering a new artist, meeting the maker behind your new favorite product, reconnecting with community or dancing in the Texas sunshine, there's a place for you here.
