In this time when Black history is under attack, this quote by Carter G. Woodson is particularly relevant “Those who have no record of what their forebears have accomplished lose the inspiration which comes from the teaching of biography and history.” 2026 is the 100th anniversary of Black History Month, begun by Dr. Woodson through the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. It is also the 20th anniversary of Coming to the Table, as well as the 250th anniversary of this country.
Join us at Handley Library (100 W. Piccadilly Street, Winchester) on Saturday, February 21, 1-3 p.m. for a presentation, interactive discussion, and inspiring spoken word performance and message to the youth by Rodney Culbreath founder of I’m Just Me Movement.
This event is free of charge.
