As part of Black History Month 2025, we are delighted to invite you to a special event in partnership with AFSA, One Vision, Hertfordshire Fire & Rescue Service, and Watford Football Club.

This year’s theme, “Standing Firm in Power and Pride,” celebrates the resilience, leadership, and cultural excellence of Black communities across the UK.

Power recognises the leadership and influence of Black people in the UK who have advanced inclusion and equity, as well asand those who have broken barriers in politics, business, education, sport, and the arts. Their achievements show how Black excellence continues to shape and strengthen the nation.

Pride reflects heritage, identity, and the celebration of Black excellence in the UK. It honours the cultural contributions—in music, literature, public life, and beyond—that have enriched our country and continue to inspire future generations.

In 2025, we also mark the 60th anniversary of the Race Relations Act, while remembering Paul Stephenson OBE (1937–2024), leader of the Bristol Bus Boycott, and Lord Herman Ouseley (1945–2024), a national voice for equality and inclusion. Their legacies continue to inspire today’s pursuit of justice and fairness.
