Join us at The Hop & Pop on Merrimon on Saturday, February 22nd from 1-3pm for a reading, book signing, and discussion with Jorge Redmond, Asheville-based author of Black Boy, Black Boy & Black Girl, Black Girl. These beautifully illustrated picture books about self-esteem for African American boys and girls draw on the history of the role models who came before them. With a simple structure that nods to Eric Carle’s “Brown Bear, Brown Bear”, the books were created by college friends who continue to work on social issues.
