Black History at GoMA: Modern Art in a Colonial Shell

Join us on Friday 24th October 2025 at 1 pm to explore the intersection of modern art and colonial history.

In this lunchtime tour, we'll focus on some of the Black and Brown artists on display in Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art.

Following the tour, you'll be able to stay on and explore our building’s colonial ties to slavery and empire through a handling kit of real museum objects.

We hope you can join us for both parts, but you are welcome to stay just the tour or the handling session.
