Join the Guelph Black Heritage Society on Saturday, June 21st at 1 PM for a powerful and immersive Black Heritage Reclaimed Bus Tour. Travel through Guelph, Fergus, and Glen Allan as we honour the stories, resilience, and contributions of early Black communities who shaped this region.
Tour Highlights:
- Guided storytelling at key historic sites
- Drive‑by views of significant Black community landmarks
- Stops at Richard Pierpoint Park, and Glen Allan
- Engaging, family‑friendly learning experience

Info: Heritage Hall was built in 1880 as the British Methodist Episcopal (BME) Church. It served as a spiritual, cultural, and social centre for Guelph’s early Black community.
Woodlawn Memorial Park
Info: Established in 1854, Woodlawn Memorial Park is the resting place of many members of Guelph’s Black community.

Info: Richard Pierpoint’s story spans continents and centuries
Glen Allan Park (Queen's Bush Plaque)
Info: From the 1820s to the 1860s, the Queen’s Bush was home to over 1,500 free and formerly enslaved Black settlers.
