Join the Guelph Black Heritage Society and Centre Wellington Black Committee for an immersive afternoon exploring the stories, resilience, and contributions of early Black communities across Guelph, Fergus, and Wellington County.

Info: Heritage Hall was built in 1880 as the British Methodist Episcopal (BME) Church. It served as a spiritual, cultural, and social centre for Guelph’s early Black community.
Woodlawn Memorial Park
Info: Established in 1854, Woodlawn Memorial Park is the resting place of many members of Guelph’s Black community.

Info: Richard Pierpoint’s story spans continents and centuries
Wellington County Museum & Archives
Info: From the 1820s to the 1860s, the Queen’s Bush was home to over 1,500 free and formerly enslaved Black settlers.
