Thinking about fun and inexpensive ways to entertain the family over the Thanksgiving holiday and walk off some carbs? We have your answer! Step back in time at the Aztec Museum & Pioneer Village on Friday, November 29th! Admission is just $5 for the ENTIRE family - parents, kiddos, young adults, grandparents, aunts, uncles (even the annoying ones!), in-laws (Hang on! Do we have to include them? Probably. It's your call.)
The museum and grounds will be open from 10am to 3pm on Black Friday. More than a dozen buildings and thousands of artifacts on display! Check out the historic 1880 Log Cabin or our early 1900s Farm House replica and cooking implements and be thankful you didn't have to prepare a Thanksgiving meal back then!
It's American Indian Heritage Month, so enjoy our collection of Native American artifacts and arts & crafts, including pottery by Maria Martinez - the most famous Native American Indian potter of her time and whose work remains world-renowned! Honor our veterans by learning about our local heroes like Congressional Medal of Honor recipient PFC Jose F. Valdez of Gobernador in our military exhibit.
We have a 1927 Ford Model TT Truck and all kinds of vintage Oil & Gas and Agriculture & Ranching implements! The kids can climb up into the cupola of our D&RG Caboose. Enjoy our 60th Anniversary exhibit "Doors to the Past" with its variety of nostalgia from beautiful vintage clothing and local artifacts to historical photos and more! See our Mid-Century Collection on loan from Dana & Alan Reed and share some "I remember that!" moments with the grandkids! Absolutely something interesting for everyone - including that annoying loudmouth uncle! (You know who you are and we mostly love you anyway. Now, go on and check out the stuff in Blacksmith Shop or the circa 1920 Fort Worth Spudder over there... way over there!)
