Creating Smartphone Stories - Join us for a fun evening at Lake Merritt, in Oakland, CA, for a free workshop on creating smartphone stories! We will show you ways that transform your smartphone into a tool that creates compelling visuals! All ages and experience levels are welcome. Our goal is to conclude the workshop with a finished short video comprised of 4-6 shots. Your instructors are both camera woman Sareeta Young @thefilmbaddie and CB Smith - Dahl, cbsmithdahl.com, a Cinematographer and Director. Please read the Frequently Asked Questions for more event details. We will end the evening with snacks!
🎬 Led by — award-winning filmmaker, photographer, and founder of BLKREELS. A UCLA Film & TV alum and educator at Berkeley City College, Sareeta is passionate about accessible media and community storytelling.
🎥 Co-hosted by — veteran director and cinematographer, co-founder of Together Pictures, and a driving force behind inclusive film production. With credits including Clarissa’s Battle and All Girls Matter (PBS), CB brings decades of filmmaking experience and mentorship, spanning narrative, documentary, and branded content.
