## BLACK EYE FILM CLUB PRESENTS: TALES FROM THE HOOD (1995)
**Four stories. One funeral home. Plenty of reasons to be afraid.**
Join Black Eye Film Club for a special Halloween-season screening of *Tales from the Hood*, Rusty Cundieff's 1995 cult horror classic.
Blending supernatural horror, dark comedy, and biting social commentary, *Tales from the Hood* uses four interconnected stories to confront the real-life horrors facing Black communities: police brutality, domestic abuse, political racism, and gang violence.
With inventive special effects and memorable performances from David Alan Grier, Wings Hauser, and Clarence Williams III as the unforgettable Mr. Simms, the film delivers scares that are as entertaining as they are unsettling.
Nearly 30 years after its release, *Tales from the Hood* remains a defining work of Black horror cinema, demonstrating how the genre can expose social realities while delivering a genuinely frightening good time.
**Come for the scares. Stay for the conversation.**
