Black Dog Walk Off : Divergence BeHereNow Edition
Be.Here.Now … is the theme for Thriving Madly’s 2026 Divergence Festival, and we're thrilled again to have a Black Dog Walk Off as one of the festival's 1st events!
No matter how full or complex life gets, no matter our capacity to do more or be more, we can always choose to embrace the current moment. Together, let’s celebrate the value of being fully present, appreciative and engaged, right here and right now, wherever we are and whoever we’re sharing the moment with.
Since the first Black Dog Walk Off at Divergence 2019, Thriving Madly has held regular walk-offs as an opportunity for a short walk and a catch-up. But don't worry if you don't have a black dog, or a dog at all, for that matter; dogs are not a requirement.
In fact, you might even find one of us walking our imaginary alternate reality dogs as we join in the fun and connection. We look forward to meeting you and your real or imaginary friends/pets. Black Dog Walk Off is a key component of Divergence.
It is an opportunity to make visible what is often a hidden community. The use of the Black Dog is in reference to the analogy that is often used by people facing the experience, which is commonly known as depression.
Join us for a coffee, go for a stroll, or just sit and chat.
And we will have treats for doggos, real or imaginary.
All welcome, so click 'interested' to get updates via Facebook and to help us with coffee planning!
* If it's raining on the day, we'll meet at Avebury House at 9 Eveleyn Couzins Avenue in Richmond instead *
