Black Birders Week: Sunset Birding with NYC Bird Alliance

Celebrate Black Birders Week at Shirley Chisholm State Park with a FREE exclusive guided hike after the park closes its gates on Wednesday, May 27 from 7pm to 8:30pm. Join the park educators in hiking the trails and watching the sunset from the highest point in Jamaica Bay! Learn about the birds in the park, and experience the changes that happen from day to night.

Binoculars and flashlights will be avaliable to borrow, but feel free to bring your own!

The hike will be approximately 2 miles long on gravel trails. Please wear shoes you are comfortable walking in, and bring water!

Registration is REQUIRED for this event, since it takes place after park operating hours.

This program is held after park hours on the Fountain Ave Side of the park. You cannot enter the park on the Pennsylvania Ave Side.
