About this Event
Join us for a series of beginner-friendly birding walks in celebration of Black Birders Week. These walks are designed to create a welcoming space to slow down, observe nature, and learn about local birds together.
All experience levels are welcome—especially beginners and families.
Binoculars will be available to borrow thanks to support from BIPOC Outdoor Gear Library and High Park Nature Centre
We’ll be hosting three separate walks:
Sunday, May 24th @ 9:30am
Eramosa River Trail, Guelph, Ontario
A relaxed, family-friendly introduction to birding along the Eramosa River Trail. We’ll move at an easy pace, learning how to spot and listen for birds in a natural river trail setting.
Friday, May 29th @ 7:00pm
Tommy Thompson Park, Toronto
An early evening birding walk along the shoreline as the sun sets and birds become active in the changing sky. A calm, reflective walk through one of Toronto’s most unique natural green spaces.
Saturday, May 30th @ 9:30am
High Park, Toronto
A morning birding walk through wooded trails and open spaces in High Park. After the walk, we’ll gather around a small fire and roast snacks together. A chance to slow down, connect, and close out Black Birders Week in community.
