About this Event
Join Good Soil Collective for Black Anchor - an in-person, discussion-driven meetup that serves as a safe space for study, deconstruction, and reconstruction of faith themes. We’re creating a culturally conscious and theologically sound gathering to explain the foundations of Biblical faith in accessible ways, and apply it to real life - always in love and always with community in mind.
What to expect
- Not a Lecture: It'll be an interactive conversation with light facilitation and a room full of people seeking to understand life together - questions are welcomed!
- Transparency & Context: We’ll address remnants of slaveholder Christianity, syncretism, church hurt, and identity - while affirming values like love, honor, & justice.
- Practical Application: Walk out with clarity on personal discipline and community engagement you can implement this week.
Who this is for
- Non-Christians, the de-churched, the curious, and those sorting through various spiritual influences who want a full understanding of the Gospel.
- Christians desiring a more authentic, rooted walk in their cultural, urban, and political spaces.
- New or rebuilding believers seeking clarity without churchy jargon.
What you’ll leave with
- A clearer picture of gospel themes and the freedoms that come with it.
- Tools to discern truth from cultural noise and “churchy” confusion.
- Next steps for community, consistency, and courage in your walk with God.
- A sense that you matter to God and to this community.
- New friends, and a connected community!
