Dylan Kerr is an Irish artist working at the intersection of performance art & experimental music. Their work takes the form of durational, endurance-based performances, drawing on the embodied languages of ritual, protest and worship. Their musical output links their research into sacred music and extended vocal techniques, working within process composition, improvisation and just intonation. Combining voice and instruments with electro-acoustic methods, they explore various genres from minimalism and noise, to computer music and drone, to metal and folk.
They have most recently been composing for sine tones, pipe organ and voice. This recent body of works are called ‘meditations on the harmonic series’, for sine tones and voice and pipe organ and voice, respectively. These works are explorations of the harmonic series, in which they incorporate overtone singing, and explore the psychoacoustic phenomena of combination tones and difference tones through amplified and unamplified means.
For their contribution to this concert, they are expanding on these themes and ideas, but with a new set of instrumentation. This new unamplified work will be for voice, shruti box, and microtonally tuned short organ pipes used as flutes. Whereas the previous works in this series placed an emphasis on bass and sub-bass frequencies, this new work will explore high frequencies - up to around 10.000 hertz.

Cis De Gendt (b. 1999, Bree, Belgium) is a sound enthusiast, artist-organizer, and performer based in Den Haag. His interest lies in creating (or contributing to) situations informed by how sound and music is embedded in our everyday auditory experience; playing in his own practice with the aesthetical potential of playback and recording, amplification and performance, while thinking about perception, attention, the participatory aspect in listening, feedback culture, and the beauty of the mundane, accidental, incidental and trivial.
Cis’ work was previously presented at Les Ateliers Claus’ Roskot festival (be), decoratelier (be), The Institute of Sonology (nl), his own house (in the context of a project on public/private space), and on sub/neu, an online gallery for multichannel sound installations. Cis has collaborated with artists Lawrence McGuire (performance) and Angelina Nonaj (performances and workshops).
Since 2022, Cis runs and curates default den haag, a non-profit curatorial initiative focused on the presentation of creative contemporary sound and performance in the Hague, curating and organizing their nomadic sound series with an international focus on experimental music and sound art performances, next to occasionally hosting accompanying talks and lectures. Their programs hold a specific/special international focus on developments affiliated with electro-acoustic improvisation, experimental contemporary composition and performance, sound art performance, computer music, and all sorts of sound poetics -more info

A dedicated collector of faulty field recordings and sonic contrarian, Yyed has long attemp- ted to extend their reach outside the boundaries of musical culture. Now based in Bonn after participating in music scenes in Stockholm and Berlin, they delineate their matted web of inspirations and experiences with unconventional sonics: the tiny, trivial details of every- day life; pregnant silences that pierce the neurodivergent brain like a needle; and the marshy textures that retreat into the cluttered, complex tonal ether that surrounds us.
Yyed’s latest statement, "stand quietly and be consumed within, as the fever path leads the way to liberation (chestnut branch inoculation)", was issued on Max Allison’s Blorpus Edi- tions label in October, and painstakingly unfurls their distinctive personal language. Lay- ering diaristic snippets of train rides, melting snow and box fans with hypnotic woodwind tones and raspy foley crunches, Yyed curates a subtly abstract, widescreen entry-point into a world that might seem humdrum until it’s placed under a microscope. It’s an apt sequel to their grainy, Lynchian debut "Two Reflections In Parallel", released last year on Melbourne’s Abyss CDR imprint.
