BirthCare Beginnings - In Person Session
About this Event
We offer two free, interactive information sessions each month:
The first session of the month (2nd Tuesday) is held virtually.
The second session of the month (4th Tuesday) is held in person at our birth center.
This session is optional and a great way to learn more about our services. You’ll have the opportunity to get to know our team, ask questions, and take an in-person tour of our birth center.
Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email from Eventbrite with details about attending the session.
Please note that in order for us to be your maternity or gynecologic care providers, you must be in good general health, be committed to health promotion and problem prevention, and be willing to be an informed, active participant in the management of your own care.
If you are pregnant, you must also remain low-risk throughout your pregnancy, not desire analgesia or anesthesia (except for local anesthesia for postpartum repair of laceration or episiotomy), and plan to breastfeed your newborn. We do not currently provide vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC).
Certain factors in your past obstetrical history or current pregnancy may require us to review your risk status on a case-by-case basis. These include:
Past Obstetrical History
- Two or more previous premature labors (clients would be managed by a physician until 37 weeks’ gestation and may return to midwifery care thereafter)
- Three or more spontaneous or induced abortions
- Previous stillbirth or neonatal loss
- Medical indication for termination in a previous pregnancy
- Previous infant with a known or suspected genetic, familial, or other congenital disorder
