Birmingham and West Midlands Skills Breakfast

This event is for Birmingham and West Midlands school leaders with limited spaces that will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Come and join other local school leaders, government representatives, and representatives from local technology companies in a dialogue about the importance of technology and computing skills for the economic growth and young people in our region.

• Hear from industry leaders why it is important to develop the right digital skills in young people by offering GCSE Computer Science.
• Hear from representatives of the Department of Education's National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) about how understanding the principles of computing is quickly becoming an essential skill and can be developed by offering GCSE Computer Science.
• Hear about the NCCE I Belong: encouraging girls into computer science programme for both secondary and primary schools.
• Hear from a local school about their journey to develop a comprehensive computing offer.
• Find out about the free support available from the NCCE for schools in our area and how to turn the resources in to a robust delivery plan.
• Take home free physical resources such as classroom posters and curriculum maps.
• Enjoy a nice, relaxing breakfast whilst networking with other attendees.
