Madison Park | Lakewood, OH
Join the City of Lakewood and Friends of Madison Park for a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony in celebration of the official opening of the new Birdtown Connector Entrance and park pathway loop. This ceremony takes place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 6 at the south entrance to Madison Park’s new path (accessible from the Athens Avenue parking lot) as part of the festivities encompassing the 37th Annual Lakewood Community Festival.
In addition to a ribbon-cutting with city officials, this free event features a footrace for kids on the new path, a bubble machine, and complimentary popsicles. Guests are encouraged to stick around and partake in the long-held tradition that is the Community Festival, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. that same day at Madison Park.
The Birdtown Connector Entrance creates direct access to Madison Park from the Historic Birdtown Neighborhood and Harrison Elementary School. This new park entrance, located at the intersection of Halstead Avenue and Thrush Street on the eastern edge of Madison Park, connects to a new U-shaped pathway that loops around the soccer field. Its completion marks a major milestone in phase 1 of the Madison Park Master Plan developed by the City of Lakewood and Cuyahoga County Planning Commission.
We hope to see you at Madison Park on September 6!
