Birds of Washington Square Park: An Urban Nature Photo Walk
About this Event
Join naturalist and environmental educator, Gabriel Willow for a photo walk through Washington Square Park, where we’ll slow down, look closely, and explore the surprising diversity of birdlife thriving in the heart of Greenwich Village. From familiar city birds to seasonal visitors, we’ll practice observing behavior, habitat, light, and the small details that make compelling photographs.
Sony tech reps Robbie Bulilan and Jason Etzel will be on hand with Sony cameras and lenses for you to try out. Have questions about settings etc no sweat they will have the answers!

Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled session. Guests may register for one time slot only.

Tickets:
Tickets are $10. The full ticket fee may be applied toward the purchase of a Sony camera or lens.
Additional Information:
Limited Sony cameras and lenses will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To borrow equipment, you must present a valid US-issued ID and current credit card. These will be securely held by an Adorama or Sony employee and returned once the equipment is checked back in.
Wear comfortable shoes, bring a hat and don’t miss the group photo. Tag Adorama, Sony Alpha and gabriel_willow when sharing your images for a chance to be featured on their social channels.

Gabriel Willow
Gabriel Willow is a naturalist with a particular passion for birds and urban spaces. He is an environmental educator and ecological tour guide in NYC, where he leads tours and teaches classes for the NYC Bird Alliance, Met Museum, Bryant Park, and others. His tours focus on seeking out the overlooked and ignored elements of wildness hiding all around us, ranging from boat trips on the East River, to kayaking on Newtown Creek, to seeking the elusive Peregrine Falcons nesting on skyscrapers near Wall Street. He is also an artist, illustrator, and DJ, and the former Vice-President of the Linnaean Society of NY.

Robbie Bulilan
Robbie Bulilan is a New Jersey-based photographer who has over 16 years of photographic experience. An experimental photographer and a wandering traveler, Robbie is passionate about going in general directions discovering new subjects that spark his interest. Figuring out which medium to capture his memories is part of the excitement in his work. Film or Digital, Robbie likes to explore the different attributes to best benefit the image he captures.
Robbie has been shooting with Sony for over 12 years and is now a Sony Imaging Specialist for the tri-state area. Robbie’s work can be seen in various areas participating with NY Fashion Week, the United States Navy, AnimeNext, and created content for Unique Photo, Inc. Robbie is a graduate of Ramapo College with a Bachelor of Visual Arts with a concentration in Photography and a minor in Business in 2018
Jason Etzel
Jason Etzel has over 20 years experience in the photographic industry as a working photographer, sales manager, graphic designer, technical consultant, sales representative, educator, and social media manager. He has been Sony Sr Photo Imaging Territory Manager since 2021
