Join us for an unforgettable live Birds of Prey presentation with the team from EarthQuest. This engaging and family-friendly program features magnificent raptors flying freely while you learn about their behaviors, hunting abilities, and the important roles they play in our ecosystem.
Guests can expect to see the flight of a falcon, a hawk soaring over the crowd, and an owl gliding silently through the air during the demonstration.
The program is led by master falconer Steve Hoddy, founder of EarthQuest. His position as Master Falconer is widely considered the highest level that can be achieved in the field of falconry. Hoddy has spent decades presenting birds of prey programs across the country and has appeared with his birds on numerous television shows, including The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. If you’ve attended the Georgia Renaissance Festival anytime in the past 25 years, you may have seen him there as well.
The birds in the program are non-releasable into the wild, but they are specially trained and fully permitted to participate in wildlife education programs at schools, nature centers, and community events—helping inspire appreciation and conservation of birds of prey.
Birds scheduled to appear in the program include:
Aplomado Falcon
Harris’s Hawk (Arrow, who may free fly!)
Great Horned Owl
African Black Eagle
Possibly a Peregrine Falcon (she can be a little moody)
